Configurations

Elation’s Settings section includes everything that you can configure to customize your Elation account.

Our settings are grouped into 3 categories:

  1. User Settings: Configurations that affect your own user account 
  2. Practice Settings: Configurations that affect all users in the practice
  3. Admin Settings: Configurations that affect all users in the practice but can only be edited by admin-level users

Below is a short-list of settings that we recommend updating as soon as possible. You can personally perform these edits or delegate them to other members of your team. Doing so will ensure that your experience on Elation feels more personalized to your practice. Click each page name to access the corresponding help center article.

Please note, this list is not meant to be exhaustive! It’s a good starting point, but please also review the other settings pages in Elation at your convenience. 

Recommendations at the user-level

Settings Page Actions
Provider Managed Delegates Designate which staff members can ePrescribe, send electronic orders, and edit billing codes on your behalf.
ePrescribing Controlled Substances (EPCS) If you need to prescribe controlled substances with Elation, complete the set-up process for EPCS.

Recommendations at the practice-level

Reminder: Any edits made to these settings will apply to all users within the practice.

Manage Accounts Invite and manage the users within your practice.
Calendar & Booking Customize your appointment types and the frequency and timing of appointment reminders

Optionally set-up your Booking Site to allow patients to self-schedule appointments online.

Patient Forms Optionally create electronic medical and consent forms that can be emailed to patients for completion ahead of their appointments.
Practice Locations Add the practice locations that need to be used for scheduling and billing workflows.
Print Headers Customize the print header(s) for your practice.
Labs Edit and manage the list of vendor names that will appear in your lab order forms.

Note: To add vendor names for other order types (ex. imaging), please contact Elation.

For insurance-taking practices only

Settings Page Actions
Insurance Standardize how you record patient insurance details by saving your common insurance carriers and plans.
Billing Speed up your code-entry process by saving the CPT and CPT-II codes that you commonly use. (If there are many codes that you’d like to add, Elation can import these codes on your behalf.)

Additionally, if you are using one of Elation’s integrated partners as your PMS, decide whether you want to enable “Delayed Bills”.
