New SOGI fields in Patient Demographics and Clinical Profile Improvements

Elation is excited to announce the release of new Patient Demographic fields along with a redesigned Clinical Profile, available to customers in February 2022. The new demographic fields enable you to capture SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity) information which displays in our optimized Clinical Profile.

Enhanced Patient Demographics

SOGI data collection is a critical first step to providing equitable care to the LGBTQ+ community. For the transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming population, inaccurate or incomplete SOGI data can lead to negative consequences in both physical and mental well-being.

The new SOGI fields enable you to capture more detail about your patients, such as preferred name, pronouns and legal gender, so you can better understand their healthcare needs. Existing fields have been updated to improve documentation of sex at birth, gender and sexual orientation.

Clinical Profile

The Clinical Profile has been redesigned for improved efficiency. Now, preferred name (i.e., Full name if different than legal) and pronouns will display in the Clinical Profile if documented, while other important data remains easy to see and reference, allowing you to deliver more personalized care. Additionally, the display of the Passport icon and hover tooltip now varies based on the patient’s current passport status.
