Best in KLAS report names Elation as top-performing, “stunningly easy-to-use” EHR for small practices March 15, 2017

Each year, the health IT industry looks to KLAS, a leading health IT research firm, to recognize the EHR systems that are performing best in serving the needs of their customers.  The Best in KLAS awards recognize “the software and service organizations that excelled in helping providers deliver better patient care.” In 2017, Elation’s Clinical First EHR was recognized as a top-three, Best in KLAS EHR in the Small Practices category.

Specifically, the Best in KLAS summary states:

“Elation delivers a stunningly easy-to-use EMR backed by the guidance and assistance providers need to navigate changing regulations that can sometimes be overwhelming for the smallest practices.”

Overall, the report emphasized that independent physicians prefer health IT solutions that provide the support, service, and communication needed for physicians to seamlessly provide care for patients. Elation was noted as a high-performing EHR in all categories and was especially touted for its dedication to developing and providing a system that supports the patient-physician relationship, even as the healthcare landscape evolves.

To compile this report, KLAS interviewed 635 organizations to identify how various health IT vendors perform in areas including implementation, support, and usability. More specifically, the KLAS report revealed that small ambulatory practices urgently need a cost-effective system that can support a physician throughout evolving regulations without compromising care-quality.  The report also tracked frustrations with EMR vendors that are struggling to service the small practice market effectively.  Some of these issues included a lack of focus on small practices, unhelpful support, complicated usability, inadequate training, a complicated billing process, deficient implementation, and poor reliability.
