Kyna Fong, PhD
Co-Founder & CEO
Guiding the organization as a passionate leader for independent primary care, Kyna Fong co-founded Elation Health in 2010. Fong is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar in Health Policy at UC Berkeley and UCSF. Kyna holds an MS in computer science from Harvard University and a Ph.D in economics from Stanford University.

Conan Fong directs Elation's overall customer experience, bringing deep expertise in physician practice workflows and operations. He holds a BS in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University and an MHS in Health Finance Management from Johns Hopkins.
Nikolaus Trotta
COO & President
Nikolaus Trotta is an accomplished executive with almost two decades of leadership experience in healthcare technology and finance. As COO and president, Nikolaus is responsible for delivering excellent customer service and success working alongside the executive team as Elation scales. Nikolaus holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS from the US Military Academy at West Point.

Chief People Officer
Sarah Kasten is a dynamic senior human resource executive with extensive background and experience directing startups and international HR operations, as well as leading change management, organizational design, employee engagement, diversity, equality and inclusion, talent acquisition, and more.
Lennart Lepner
Chief Financial Officer
Before joining Elation Health, Lennart spent 9+ years at cloud commerce platform company, AppDirect, in various finance leadership positions. Lennart holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in economics and psychology from Amherst College. In his spare time, Lennart is an avid cyclist and tennis player and enjoys exploring the greater Bay Area with his wife and baby boy.
Ashley Rogers
Chief Product Officer
Ashley Rogers is a seasoned analytics and product leader with over 15 years of experience driving innovation in value-based healthcare. She holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Illinois Chicago. Ashley is deeply passionate about preventive care and public health. She has dedicated her career to leveraging data and technology to improve patient outcomes.
Amanda Melander
Chief Marketing Officer
Amanda Melander brings more than two decades of marketing experience working across multiple business and consumer brands. She served previously as Head of Global Demand Generation at athenahealth, having led a variety of marketing functions during her more than a decade’s long work at the company.
Seth Cedars
General Counsel
Prior to joining Elation Health, Seth Cedars spent a year at San Francisco-based startup, Capella Space, supporting corporate legal and regulatory licensing and compliance functions; and 9 years at Healthgrades, the largest online marketplace helping consumers find their best healthcare. Cedars received his Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Ryo Kawaoka
SVP, Chief of Staff
Ryo Kawaoka serves as Elation's Chief of Staff. Over 13 years at Location Labs by Avast, he rose from engineer to VP of Product and Operations, developing deep cross-functional expertise along the way. Ryo holds a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Phill Tornroth
VP, Technical Strategy
Phill Tornroth joined Elation as their first full-time developer in 2010 and is currently the VP of Engineering focused on technical strategy, including all things AI. Phill’s a reluctant technologist who believes strongly in pragmatic and empathetic applications of technology through thoughtful human-centered design.
Sara J. Pastoor, MD, MHA
Head of Primary Care Advancement
Elation’s leader in primary care advocacy, Dr. Pastoor is board-certified and a clinically-active family medicine physician. As an experienced primary care innovator in military medicine, academic medicine, private practice, Dr. Pastoor is a primary care champion. Dr. Pastoor received her MD from Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences and MHA from Trinity University.
